453 edited entries and 328 new articles about women. Wikipedia was once again changing before our eyes

From March 1 to April 7, 2026, the Women’s Month on Wikipedia took place. During this period, 61 participants edited 453 entries, 328 of which were newly created. Across libraries, universities, and the online environment, hundreds of stories about women that had previously been missing from Wikipedia were added.

The highlight of the program was the Women in Science edit-a-thon held on March 24 at the Czech Academy of Sciences, which connected the community with expert partners and demonstrated how collaborative work can transform the shape of the encyclopedia.
