In the spring of 2026, the collaboration between the Wikimedia Czech Republic association and the Olomouc Region Development Aid Agency (ARPOK), which began last year, reached its culmination. Following a seminar for teachers from selected schools across the Czech Republic, a series of workshops was held to introduce students from selected schools (Ptení Elementary School, Opava Elementary School, Lipník nad Bečvou High School, Býšť Elementary School) to specific topics related to UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals. Led by experienced instructors, the workshops introduced students to the principles of Wikipedia; some classes were also able to participate in minor edits (correcting typos, uploading images) as well as creating their own entries on Pidipedia. The students focused on topics such as homelessness, ocean conservation, climate change, and poverty. We expect that the schools and their clubs will participate in further Wikipedia activities in the future, and Wikimedia Czech Republic will provide support through consultations and, if necessary, additional seminars and training sessions.
