Are you interested in science and would like to contribute to its popularization? The great Science Month on Wikipedia challenge, organized by Wikimedia Czech Republic, has just started. From May 1 to June 15, 2026, you can join in improving the largest Czech encyclopedia, write about scientific topics, or participate in a photo and video contest.
What is the challenge about? The goal of the project is to enrich the Czech Wikipedia with new and updated entries across all scientific disciplines – from natural and technical sciences to the humanities. Absolutely anyone can participate:
- Write or expand an article: Choose any scientific topic, write about it, and don’t forget to include the hashtag #veda in the edit summary.
- Share photos and videos: Do you have interesting shots of scientific workplaces, experiments, natural phenomena, or portraits of scientists? Upload them to our special micro-contest!
The most successful participants can look forward to material prizes, and every participating editor will receive a special virtual badge for their profile.

During the challenge, we are organizing a series of events where experienced lecturers will advise you on how to start editing (but you can also just drop by for a coffee and a chat).
