This is the third year we have been collaborating with the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště, which is a key part of the Wiki Loves Film challenge. On Saturday 24 July, as part of the supporting programme, a talk entitled ‘Wikipedia and Film’ took place, during which the main speaker, Pavel Bednařík, explained how people can get involved in improving film articles on Wikipedia. In the follow-up workshop, using the example of the Summer Film School’s opening film, Wirbel, he demonstrated how easy it is to create an article about a film and add a suitable image (from the film’s screening at the festival). Together with the film’s producer, we discussed ways of promoting the film via Wikipedia. You can find more information about the challenge at film.wikimedia.cz.
