Wikimedia Test: A Tool For Policymakers

The Wikimedia Foundation has published the final version of the Wikipedia Test — a tool allowing lawmakers and policymakers to assess the impact of legislative proposals on decentralized platforms operating in the public interest. With increasing efforts to regulate the internet, there is a growing risk that restrictions imposed e.g. on social networks could also affect platforms such as Wikipedia. The Wikipedia test informs public policymakers about the aspects that need to be taken into account so that projects serving the public interest are not jeopardized.
