14th Annual Wikiconference will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Didaktikon at Hybernská Campus in Prague. This year’s theme reflects a question that resonates not only within the community but across society: “Is Wikipedia just for boomers?”
At a time when younger generations increasingly turn to AI chatbots and large language models for answers, we ask: What role does Wikipedia play in the age of artificial intelligence—and what role could it play in the future?
This year’s program will feature two keynote lectures by Josef Šlerka and Bob Kartous, panel discussions, expert and community talks, and of course, space for newcomers and practical workshops.
The program will run in parallel in three halls—some sessions will be streamed, while others will remain offline to allow for open and safe discussion. Topics will include:
- Wikipedia and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Democracy in the digital jungle
- Teaching Wikipedia in schools
- Challenges and plans of regional chapters
- Tech tools for Wikipedians
- Citations, community, and new forms of engagement
The full program and schedule can be found on the official Wikiconference website.
This event is not just for active Wikimedia contributors—it is also open to the general public. Join us to get inspired, exchange ideas, and shape the future of Wikipedia and its community together!
