Seniors visited Luhačovice as part of Senior Wikitown

This year’s Senior Wikitown visited the eastern part of our country, the South Moravian spa town of Luhačovice. From September 25 to 28, 2025, following trips to Bečov nad Teplou and Lysá nad Labem, experienced seniors and lecturers set off for places that have not yet been thoroughly explored. Thirteen active participants took part in a varied program that included a tour of the Luhačovice Spa and individual buildings and complexes (Bedřich Smetana House, Jurkovič House), and the newly renovated Sun Spa from the 1930s. The more adventurous members of the expedition also went on a pilgrimage to Horní Světlov, where they explored the ruins of a medieval castle accompanied by a historian as part of a traditional event. The participants had facilities for their editing work at the Luhačovice Zálesí Museum, where they were hosted by museum staff led by ethnographer and curator Blanka Petráková. Together with her husband, painter František Petrák, they contributed their support and experience to make the visit to the Luhačovice Spa an unforgettable experience.
