On Wednesday and Thursday, December 10–11, 2025, the final round of the Media Olympics competition took place, organized for the third time by the Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava. Wikimedia Czech Republic’s chief lecturer, Pavel Bednařík, participated as a judge, but also gave a lecture to students during the final day at the Great World of Technology in Ostrava. Wikipedia was not only part of the lecture, but also part of a knowledge test that tested students’ knowledge of the media environment. Students used the information they learned during the lecture. The Media Olympics has a wide reach, with more than 1,000 teams from schools across the Czech Republic participating in the competition. For more information, visit medialniolympiada.cz.
