On Thursday, 19 June 2025, the final event of this year’s Wikipedia Science Month took place at Didaktikon in Prague’s Hybernská Campus. The event was held in a hybrid format – in person and online – and was open to the public.
This was the first-ever Wikipedia Science Month, aimed at improving Czech Wikipedia’s coverage of scientists and science-related topics. During the closing editathon, participants worked on new and existing articles, either individually or in small groups. Trainers were on hand to support newcomers and guide them through the editing process.
The event also featured a public recording of the panel “Wikipedia, Universities, and Scientific Knowledge,” focused on how Wikipedia can be used in academic contexts. The panel featured Petr Brož, geologist and science communicator, and Pavlína Kolínová, librarian and assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, who leads the Information Science and Librarianship portal and Wikipedia writing course.
