The course entitled Creating Articles for the Czech Wikipedia arose from demand for a thematic course that followed on from a previous successful course at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. However, the course was also created in response to the partnership between Wikimedia Czech Republic and Charles University, which was confirmed by a memorandum in 2023. Linguistics students thus became involved in writing articles related to their field. This resulted in articles on important figures (Jože Toporišič), technical terms (inference, elderspeak, lexicography), and individual dialects, such as the Peták dialect, also known as the Eastr Litomyšl dialect. The course will continue for students of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in the following academic year 2025/2026. All texts are published under the hashtag #uk100.
