An accompanying event to the Wiki Loves Film challenge, which is taking place throughout the CEE region in 2025, was a walk through Prague’s defunct cinemas. It was organized by the challenge’s partner, Edison Filmhub, as part of the premiere of the documentary film The Lumière Brothers: The Adventure Continues. The walk visited places where the first Prague cinemas were established in the 1910s – the house at Modrá štika, the Lucerna cinema, the Ponrepo cinema, and the Apollo cinema. The guide introduced the participants to the historical context and showed them interesting places that are not normally accessible. Four Wikipedians also took part in the event, taking several dozen photographs that were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. The walk was followed by a screening of the above-mentioned documentary, to which participants were invited free of charge.
