On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, we hosted the online edit-a-thon “Finish Your Science Article” (Dopiš svůj vědecký článek). The event was designed as a hands-on workshop for anyone looking for that extra push to finalize and polish their drafts on Wikipedia.
The workshop took place as part of the wrapping-up activities for the Science Month on Wikipedia challenge. Organized by Wikimedia Czech Republic in cooperation with the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Charles University, this thematic campaign focuses on expanding and improving high-quality scientific content on the encyclopedia.
During the three-hour session, experienced tutors were available to guide both regular editors and complete newcomers.
The final 30 minutes were dedicated to a joint publishing sprint and celebrating everyone’s success. All articles and edits marked with the #veda hashtag in the edit summary are automatically entered into a competition for prizes from our project partners. On top of that, every participant will receive a special virtual user badge on their Wikipedia profile as a thank you for their hard work.
