In the second half of March, the first ever meeting of students of the Hejčín Grammar School in Olomouc with Wikipedia and editing possibilities took place. In an introductory lecture by the main lecturer Pavel Bednařík, students got acquainted with the principles and basic rules of Wikipedia and also discussed the possibilities offered by the open encyclopedia.
The subsequent editathon focused on creating passwords for the March Wikigap challenge. Students prepared or selected specific women on the spot whose articles they expanded or based. Both the lecture and editathon were part of the media education class taught by high school teacher Pavel Masný. The March event will be followed up by further collaborative programs with the largest high school in the Czech Republic in the fall of 2022.
