Each year, a group of senior alumni go to a selected location in the Czech Republic for a weekend of editing, photography and general work to enrich Wikipedia. This year is no exception, and so this year’s Senior WikiTown was officially launched today in Lysá nad Labem!
The programme for the participants began with a tour of the interior of Lysá nad Labem Castle, which is not usually open to the public, followed by a guided walk through the castle park. The programme then moved to the newly renovated “Attic”, located in the old local town hall.
At the official opening we were welcomed by the Vice-Mayor Mgr. Radka Bláhová and Councillor Ing. Jan Marek, besides their speeches, there were also words of the main lecturer of Wikimedia ČR, but also of the participants themselves.
