The cooperation between Wikimedia ČR and the Research Library in Olomouc goes back a long way. In addition to lectures, editathons, workshops and training sessions for seniors, a regular Wikiclub was launched in 2023, where interested people of all experience levels can join. In 2025, we are kicking off the collaboration with a brand new lecture by Pavel Bednarik, Don’t You Believe Wikipedia?, which introduces the known and unknown contexts of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. The lecture will include an explanation of the arguments why Wikipedia is a trusted source of information, what rules it follows, who contributes to Wikipedia, and how anyone can get involved in the movement. The lecture will take place at the Red Church on Monday 20 January 2025 at 5pm. Admission is free.
