What is the Online WikiSchool?
It is a series of regular specialised workshops originally designed primarily for seniors, especially graduates of beginner (and advanced) courses Seniors Write Wikipedia (SePW), but today they are open to all Wikipedia users.
What does the Evening WikiSchool offer?
It offers the opportunity to develop specific skills that every good Wikipedian needs for their work. We will focus on techniques and tips that can be used in editing practice.
The May WikiSchool will focus on a seemingly minor, yet essential area: categories on Wikimedia Commons. We will look at examples of appropriate and inappropriate image categorization, batch category addition, as well as methods for creating and moving categories.
We kindly ask all participants to prepare one or more images from their personal archive that they can upload and categorize. However, this is not a condition for participation!
The Online WikiSchool will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 17:00 to 18:30. With questions or follow-up work, you are welcome to join any Monday from 18:00 during the regular WikiHelpdesk.
You can register here, where you will also find all additional details and information.
Don’t wait too long to register — the workshop has limited capacity.
