On Tuesday 27 January 2026, a talk entitled ‘25 Years with Wikipedia – What You Might Not Know About the World’s Largest Encyclopaedia’ took place at the Olomouc Scientific Library. The main speaker, Pavel Bednařík, introduced the attendees, who had gathered at the Red Church, to some interesting facts about Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects, whilst also marking the recent 25th anniversary of this unique encyclopaedia. Among other things, the attendees showed keen interest in whether Wikipedia is under threat from the rise of AI and who checks Wikipedia’s content.
