This year’s challenge saw 78 participants edit or expand 584 entries on the Czech and Slovak Wikipedias, 365 of them brand new — spanning topics from pharmaceutical chemistry to the history of science and paleontology. The jury, made up of Míla Moudrá (Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences), Slovak Wikipedian KormiSK, and Barbora Šmídová (Charles University), awarded the Jury Prize to Wikipedians OJJ, Kurkic5, and Henryk Siuda, whose entries stood out for their scientific accuracy and careful sourcing. The most active editor was Luketheslovak with 126 edits, who focused mainly on chemistry and pharmacology.
This year’s edition also included a parallel challenge called UK100, run in cooperation with Charles University and focused on entries about scientists and institutions connected to the Czech Republic’s oldest university, as well as the Science Micro-Contest 2026 photography competition, which drew eight photographers. Together they uploaded 69 photographs and one video to Wikimedia Commons, covering everything from research equipment to museum exhibits and historical portraits of scholars.
