On Monday, 22 June 2026, Wikimedia Czech Republic held an online meeting of its Wikimedians in Residence, attended by the current residents, the Wikimedia Czech Republic team, and guests from the National Library of Technology and the Karlovy Vary Regional Library.
The participants first reflected on the past six months, recalling the successful Free Culture Evening, edit-a-thons organised in cooperation with the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and a guided visit to the Vinohrady Theatre. This was followed by a discussion of the schedule for the second half of the year, including the Czech Wiki Photo competition, the Wiki Loves Film editing challenge, and traditional autumn initiatives such as Czechoslovakia and Wikipedia Asian Month. During the expert session, Václav Jiroušek from the National Library presented the GLAM Dashboard and demonstrated how it can be used to collect statistics on multimedia files.
The next meeting, this time in person, will take place in September; its exact format and date will be confirmed at a later stage.
