The June WikiSchool will focus on Wikivoyage, which, thanks to active Wikipedians from Brno, made its way in 2024 from the incubator to the main namespace in the Czech language. It is a portal offering travel information about various places in our country and around the world. We will explore what kind of information, advice, and tips it offers—and what it doesn’t. You will learn how to get involved in Wikivoyage and what to be mindful of. Participants will try adding their own contributions and editing existing pages on Wikivoyage. This time, WikiSchool will be led by instructors Pavel Bednařík and Wikipedian LiMr, one of the initiators of the revival of Czech Wikivoyage.
The Online WikiSchool will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 17:00 to 18:30. With questions or follow-up work, you are welcome to join any Monday from 18:00 during the regular WikiHelpdesk.
You can register here, where you will also find all additional details and information.
What is the Online WikiSchool?
It is a series of regular specialized workshops, originally intended mainly for seniors—especially graduates of beginner (and advanced) Seniors Write Wikipedia (SePW) courses. Today, however, they are open to all Wikipedia users.
What does the Evening WikiSchool offer?
It offers an opportunity to develop specific skills every good Wikipedian needs. We’ll focus on techniques and tips that are useful in editing practice.
Don’t wait too long to register — the workshop has limited capacity.
The activities of the “Senior Citizens Write Wikipedia” project are supported by the grant program Support for Publicly Beneficial Activities of Senior and Pro-Senior Organizations with Nationwide Scope.
