How to Involve Your University in Wikimedia Projects? Join Our Online Webinar

Wikimedia Czech Republic invites academics, students and representatives of Czech and Moravian universities to a webinar focused on how higher education institutions can get involved in Wikimedia projects.

The webinar takes place on Monday, 15 June 2026, at 15:00, runs for 90 minutes and is held online via Zoom. The link will be sent to registered participants.

Wikipedia celebrated its 25th anniversary this year and Wikimedia projects have become an indispensable tool for academic institutions. In the Czech Republic, successful collaborations with Charles University and Masaryk University have been running for several years, and other universities are involved in various projects and activities. The webinar will explain how the individual projects work, what rules they follow, and how universities in the Czech Republic and abroad participate in them. It will include case studies from both universities and space for questions and suggestions from participants.

The webinar follows up on the panel discussion The Third Mission of Universities, Open Science and Wikimedia Projects, held as part of the Evening of Free Culture on 16 January 2026. A recording of the discussion is available on the Wikimedia Czech Republic YouTube channel.

The webinar is intended primarily for academics, master’s and doctoral students, postdocs and volunteer coordinators.
